Settings

The Settings screen is the central place to configure Tsumihon’s behavior. It is organized into sections, each grouping related options together.

Appearance

Theme Mode — Light, Dark, AMOLED, or Auto. AMOLED is a separate choice from Dark, not a darker shade of it: it drops to a near-black ground for OLED screens, where Dark sits a few steps above black.
Accent Colour — the one saturated colour in the app. Ten presets, a rainbow option, and a custom colour picker; surfaces stay the same whichever you pick. The accent can fill shapes as one Solid colour or as a Gradient.
App icon — pick the icon on your home screen from a set of covers. Every icon is the same booklet with a different cover printed on it.
Button sheen — a soft highlight across gradient buttons, as if light were falling on them.
Add button glow — the add button lights the top edge of the bottom bar.
Cover glow — a soft light around the cover on a book’s page.
Paper texture — a fine grain over the background, like paper.

General

Language — set the app’s interface language. Nine are available.
Default reading direction — choose right-to-left, left-to-right, or vertical scrolling as the default for new books.
Rating display — how a book’s rating is shown in the library.
Grid columns — how many covers fit across a row.

Title Display

Controls which title field is shown throughout the app (library grid, detail screen, search results). Books can have up to three title fields: Japanese, Romaji, and English. This setting determines which one takes priority when displaying a book’s name.

Tip: If the selected title field is empty for a particular book, Tsumihon falls back to the next available title automatically.

Automation & AI

Settings for automated workflows and AI-assisted features.

AI OCR API Key — enter an API key from a supported AI provider to enable OCR-based search. With this configured, you can take a photo of a book cover or page and search for it using the provider’s vision capabilities. The settings screen shows the specific provider currently supported and links to where to obtain a key. The key is stored locally on your device and is only sent to the AI provider when you initiate an OCR search.

Auto-Import

Configure automatic import of books from compatible extensions. Auto-import periodically checks your installed sources and adds matching books to your library without manual intervention.

Auto-Merge

Configure how Tsumihon automatically merges metadata from multiple sources for the same book. Auto-merge uses source IDs and title matching to identify duplicates and combine their metadata.

Advanced & Safety

App Info — build information and version details.
Data Credits — attribution for the public databases that contribute metadata to Tsumihon. Tap any entry to visit the source. Tsumihon includes credits for publicly licensed datasets that require or appreciate attribution.
Debug Tools — diagnostic logging and log export, primarily used when reporting issues.
Danger Zone — destructive actions such as clearing downloads, bulk cleanup, resetting the local collection, and deleting your account.

Warning: Actions in the Danger Zone cannot be undone. Use them only when you are certain.
